Let's talk ice cream! In this series I'll share some of my favorite ice cream places worldwide.
One of my dad’s favorite things is trying a new ice cream places, growing up he would drive us all around New England to find new places. I’ve inherited that same love of ice cream. If I see a good looking ice cream place, you can bet that I’m going in to get a scoop.
Currently I’m working my way up to be an ice cream sommelier, but in the meantime I’ll share with you my favorite ice cream places across the world! This is part 1 of My Favorite Ice Cream Places Worldwide!
We’ll start this series close to home with Holy Cow, and I’ve got to say, “holy cow this is amazing ice cream!” There’s no doubt that Holy Cow is in my top 3 favorite ice cream places worldwide.

Their first shop originally opened in Gloucester, MA, right near downtown. After your beach day at Good Harbor it’s a requirement that you stop in (I don’t make the rules). They’ve recently opened locations in Peabody and Salem. What’s better than a shopping spree or beach day followed by one of the best ice creams you’ve ever had? I can’t think of much that could top that.
Ok so I’ve hyped it up a lot, and for good reason. Holy cow has some of the most outrageous and delicious flavors:
Mintsanity: mint ice cream with house made double chocolate and chocolate chip cookies, Golden Oreos and Oreos.
Salty Himalayan Crunch: pink Himalayan salty vanilla ice cream loaded with chocolate covered pretzels.
Ritzy AF: salted butter cracker ice cream loaded with house-made Ritz Cracker toffee bark.
That’s just to name a few! They are also constantly changing the menu, experimenting with different ideas and flavor combinations. Every time I stop by there’s a new one I need to try!
They don’t stop there with the fun and crazy, they also make insane ice cream sandwiches, like the breakfast bomb. Made with homemade sugar cookies, filled with Fruity Pebble steeped ice cream, mixed with colorful cereal marshmallows, and colored with all natural Blue Spirulina. Oh and it’s also rolled with Fruity Pebbles…c’mon!
Did I mention their vegan flavors? I’m not a vegan myself, but I appreciate the sentiment for all my plant eaters. At any time they have at least half a dozen vegan options, like vegan Oreo cold brew, vegan lemon cookie, and vegan coconut chai. I’ve been known to order a scoop of their vegan flavors, because they’re just that good!
They also offer allergen safe half pints for all my buddies who struggle finding good ice cream. These special half pints are nut, egg, soy and gluten free. It warms my heart that so many people can eat my favorite ice cream.
I’m still not done with the reasons I love Holy Cow! One of my favorite things is that they are locally owned. I love being able to support locally owned businesses and Holy Cow makes it easy with multiple locations near me. They also partner with other local businesses to make fun flavors. Recently they created an ice cream with my favorite bakery, Half Baked Café in Beverly. Together they made a maple blueberry ice cream with chunks of Half Baked Blueberry Pancake Donuts and house-made maple salted caramel swirl. It was delicious (it was in fact my breakfast multiple days in a row).
I’m truly obsessed with Holy Cow. I can’t get enough of their ice cream. Maybe I’ll run into you while I’m there ;)

Can confirm that Holy Cow is top tier ice cream!!!
