From working sessions to cocktails to mochi, Bow Market is my kind of playground.
When I first started looking for apartments in Somerville, there was one place I kept coming back to on the map. I knew I wanted to live close to Bow Market.
From the moment you walk in, you can feel the energy of the place. Bow Market sits right in Union Square but somehow feels like its own little world. The courtyard is almost always buzzing with people sitting outside, catching up with friends, or just enjoying the atmosphere. On a warm day, it feels like the whole neighborhood gathers there.
One of the things I love most about Bow Market is that it’s just as good for getting a little work done as it is for a night out. Sometimes I bring my laptop and sip a drink while I work. I love grabbing a kombucha on tap from Remnant Brewing or a mint limeade from Viet Citron while enjoying the courtyard vibes.
But my favorite way to experience Bow Market is an evening with friends.
My ideal night starts with scoring a table in the courtyard and ordering pizza from Hot Box We usually share a few: classic pepperoni, spicy pickle, and buffalo chicken. To go with the pizza, we grab fries from Saus. They’re perfectly crispy and even better dipped in the spicy ranch. Plus, Saus is vegetarian and has plenty of vegan options for friends!

Next, we order drinks from Nook to our table. They are artists when it comes to cocktails. The drinks they create are out of this world, and I always come back wanting more.
And of course, the night wouldn’t be complete without dessert. The mochi from Maca is one of my favorite treats at Bow Market and the perfect sweet finish.
It’s that mix of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a lively courtyard that makes Bow Market the kind of place you can’t help but keep coming back to.
