Best Donut Places in MA

I’ve had amazing donuts from all over the country, but there’s nothing better than donuts from my home state of Massachusetts.

If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for a good donut. I’ll go to a new place and buy a dozen, because I want to try each one — even though I can never finish them all myself. On weekends I’ll steal away to my favorite local haunts, to bring some home for my family. I’ve made charcuteries of donuts and munchkins for wine nights with my friends. On ice cream for breakfast day, I piled my donuts high with ice cream, making the most delicious sandwich.
I can't help myself, I want to try them all! I've had donuts from everywhere from Seattle to Orlando, but there's no place like home. So, here's some of my favorite donut places in MA:
Half Baked Café in Beverly
Half Baked Café in Beverly is my go to donut place for so many reasons. The first being, it’s delicious. They source the best ingredients the North Shore has to offer, and when the seasons change, so does the menu. I can’t even describe how tasty these donuts are, it’s just something you have to experience yourselves.
The second, it’s locally owned and female operated. As I said, I’m a sucker for a good donut, but even more so for female empowerment. I love seeing my ladies shine and supporting all of them in all of their endeavors. The owner also supports other local businesses by doing collaborations, contests and cross-promotions. It's wonderful to see Half Baked using their platform to raise up other organizations.

Third, it’s 100% nut free. Although I don’t have a nut allergy, a lot of my friends do, and therefore don't get to enjoy all the donut places I love and cherish. Half Baked Café allows me to share my favorites with my nut free homies.
Fourth, it’s close to the ocean. Another one of my weak spots is the beach. I love the salt water and the crashing of the ocean waves. Being able to enjoy a donut on the beach is another experience entirely.
If you have the chance to go to Half Baked, I recommend the maple bacon and the Beverly cream (their spin on the Boston cream), they are my favorite donuts! They also offer breakfast sandwiches and lunch options, not just donuts — even though I'd be fine with just the donuts too!
Unfortunately they are only open a few more weeks until their lease is up :( so be sure to stop in ASAP!
Rocco’s Doughnut Company in the Worcester Area

Rocco's Doughnut Company is a new find of mine, and already a favorite. They have funky flavors like sangria, chocolate churro, watermelon sugar (imagine Harry Styles singing "watermelon sugar high" please) and frosted animal cracker. The strawberries and cream might be the best donut I’ve ever had; a fresh glazed donut cut in half, filled with strawberries and rich cream. Strawberry shortcake but make it a donut — much better than angel food cake in my opinion.
Their branding is on point too. The donuts are served in pizza boxes, with my guy Rocco displayed proudly on the top of the box. It’s fun and inviting, begging you to order more donuts!
They have 2 locations in the greater Worcester area. If you happen to be in that way, I personally beg you to try these donuts, it will change your life.
The ANGRY Donut in Newburyport

A fan favorite is The ANGRY Donut. Why are they so angry? I have no idea, because all they give me is joy! Their donuts are made from scratch daily, using a brioche dough, producing a light and airy donut. Everything is homemade, and made to perfection.
They also partner with RiverWalk Brewing Co. (check out more about Riverwalk in this post). On Sundays the two pair beer and donuts to compliment all the right flavors. Making the tasting flight you didn't know you needed. It's absolutely delicious and a great spot for brunch!
Blackbird Doughnuts in Boston

With a bunch of locations in Boston, Blackbird Doughnuts is a must if you're visiting Bean Town. Their donuts are made from scratch (ok all the places on this list are, but it’s always worth the mention), and they offer some funky finds. Do you like everything bagels? Well, Blackbird Doughnuts will do one better, they have an everything bagel donut. Yes, a savory donut, topped with everything bagel seasoning and filled with cream cheese.
Recently, their special was stadium nachos… a brioche donut topped with queso, tortilla strips and sliced pickled jalapenos. All I have to say is, genius.
The fun doesn’t stop there, they also have vegan donuts (for all you plant lovers), donut pie — hold on let me say that again, donut pie (cider donuts baked in graham cracker crust with brown sugar filling topped with spice glaze + classic sprinkles)— donut cake, and donut cookies. Could one place get any better?!
Did I mention soft serve in a cone? I'll just leave this here:

These are just a few of my favorite places in Mass, but I’m always on the lookout for new places to try; share with me your donut comida vibes!
