Best bakery in Salem, MA!

October has me thinking about spooky season in Salem, MA. The town is most notably known for the Salem Witch Trials, but what they should really be known for is Coffee Time Bake Shop.

I have a lot of places I love to get donuts and baked goods, but this is my all time favorite place for pastries. Coffee Time Bake Shop is family owned and has operated in Salem for the past 30 years. Students from Salem High and Salem State College often find jobs working behind the counter, slinging out the best baked goods around. The family does what they can to support the surrounding communities.

They have a massive selection of pastries: donuts, muffins, bagels, cakes, scones and more. All equally delicious. Their specialty is the real cream Bismarck's: fried donut shell, split and filled with fruit fillings and whipped cream. Made with a variety of fillings; raspberry, lemon, blueberry and strawberry. No amount of descriptive words will be able to accurately explain how amazing this Bismarck's are! I crave these 24/7. It takes a lot of effort to not drive to Salem to pick up a dozen of Bismarck's.

No matter what you choose from key lime pie to carrot cake you're going to be pleased. If you visit Salem during the fall you have to stop in to Coffee Time and pick up some treats!

Did I also mention their sustainability practices? They do their best to be green, and support local business. All their dairy is sourced locally from a farm in Peabody. The straws for drinks are 100% compostable (save the turtles)! They also compost leftover food waste through Black Earth Compost. Black Earth is a locally owned composting company that started in 2011 in Gloucester, MA. They support curbside pick-up in residential neighborhoods to commercial services for businesses. I just love when local organizations partner for the great good!
