A Summer Soirée to Remember: Celebrating Castaways' 7th Birthday

I have a confession to make: despite living on the North Shore my entire life, I only recently discovered Castaways Vintage Cafe. Honestly, I'm not sure how it took me so long.

A few weeks ago, I stopped in for the first time, and since then I've been completely hooked. Their lattes have quickly become one of my favorite treats, and their cold foam? Let's just say I think about it far more often than I probably should. If left unchecked, I could easily spend all of my money there.

What I love most about Castaways is that it's the kind of locally owned business that feels uniquely North Shore. In a world of chains and drive-thrus, there's something special about finding a place with so much personality and heart behind it. More often than not, I'll grab a latte and then take a drive over to Good Harbor Beach, coffee in hand, to soak in the ocean views. It's quickly become one of my favorite little rituals.

So when Castaways reached out and invited me to their seventh birthday celebration, there was no chance I was turning that down.

The café celebrated the milestone with a Summer Soirée that brought together everything people love about Castaways: great coffee, good food, local community, and plenty of fun. The evening featured forever jewelry, delicious treats, drinks served in coconuts, giveaways, new merchandise, and a steady stream of people stopping by to celebrate.

What I loved most was seeing the community come out to support a local business that has clearly become a special gathering place in Gloucester. Even with a little rain, the energy never faded. Friends caught up over coffee, guests browsed the new merch, and everyone seemed genuinely excited to celebrate seven years of Castaways.

As someone who is still new to the Castaways community, it was the perfect introduction to what makes this place so special. Beyond the incredible coffee, there's a warmth and sense of connection that keeps people coming back. It's the kind of place that feels welcoming the moment you walk through the door.

Thank you to Castaways for inviting me to be part of such a fun evening. Congratulations on seven amazing years, and here's to many more summers, many more lattes, and hopefully a lot more cold foam in my future.
